Inland finds @ Harry Griffin Regional Park (La Mesa)
A nice reminder to check your local patches as you never know what will turn up in a clump of lerpy eucs if you're willing so sift through the Yellow-rumps! Harry Griffin Regional Park in La Mesa has been quite birdy recently, with lots of songbirds foraging in the eucs and nearby trees along the road. Best spots have been around the ampitheater and playground near the entrance, and then in the SE corner where the road makes a 90 degree turn left towards the dog park.
Last weekend I had a dull fall BLACKPOLL WARBLER in the latter spot with a mixed group of warblers that included multiple Wilson's, Townsend's, Orange-crowned, Yellow, and a Black-throated Gray.
This morning I spotted a nice CASSIN'S VIREO near the playground, and the warbler crew included the same list as above with a Hermit Warbler added in (and Black-throated Gray taken away).
Definitely worth a check in the morning for anyone who lives in the area.
