Indigo Bunting and miscellanea

On Monday, the 21st, there was a warm-brown, blurry-streaky, "female-type" Indigo Bunting in the community gardens in the TRV, where at least 4 Yellow-headed Blackbirds continue in the area, mixed in with the large Red-winged flock(s), and where still about a dozen Black-chinned Hummingbirds continue as well. Overall numbers of new landbird migrants the past several days continues rather mediocre (at best). Have seen several arrival "Gambel's" White-crowned Sparrows since the 18th, and a few Yellow-rumpeds are now at multiple locations. A slight uptick in B-t Gray Warbler numbers. Continuing Surfbird and 250 Red Knots on south San Diego Bay (Emory Cove).

On 19 Sep, an adult Reddish Egret was at the San Diego River mouth, and the returning pelagic trip that day saw a Black Oystercatcher on Zuniga Jetty.
