good flight at Mount Soledad, Thursday
By – 1:46 pm
The morning-flight on Thursday the 12th at Mount Soledad was quite good. It also started promptly at dawn (5:55AM), which is earlier than normal. I stayed until almost 8:30. The dominant species were Warbling Vireo and Wilson’s Warbler, followed by Townsend’s & Yellow Warblers and Western Tanager. The lingering, late Golden-crowned Sparrow continues as well. There may also be reasonable flights tomorrow and Saturday mornings. I heard from other observers today from places like Point Loma, Mount Helix, and the TRV that the same migrant species were in improved numbers there this AM as well, but not nearly as many as flew by Mount Soledad.
