Flesh-footed Shearwater about 6 miles west of Ocean Beach

Seen at about 1:35 pm today at 32.751486, -117.365739, right over the first major drop-off west of Ocean Beach. It was one of many hundreds of shearwaters at a major feeding frenzy associated with several hundred dolphins and a couple of humpback whales. Seems unlikely to be a chaseable bird, but maybe it will linger around the drop-off area in this prime whale watching zone for a while. The bird was fairly close to the whale watch boat (Privateer) and photo-cooperative. I will post more details to eBird when I get the chance to do so later this evening.
