Nathan Goldberg, a recent San Diego transplant, has been an avid birder for over half his lifetime. Growing up in Chicago, as a kid he rapidly absorbed all information bird-related and quickly got well connected to his local birding scene. Between watching warblers at Montrose Point to heading downstate on one of many county-listing forays, he’s been highly motivated since his early teens.
Working now as a Tour Leader for Red Hill Birding, Nathan finds himself traveling often, en route to Minnesota and Montana, Florida and Arizona, to lead tours with eager clients. While much of his travel is for work, back in November 2022, he and some friends took 45 days and toured throughout Sumatra and Bangladesh in search of some of the world’s rarest and little-known birds. Between 15 hour ferry rides on banana boats, to leech-covered muddy trails, this talk will be full of adventures, misadventures, and everything in between.
