Program: Quail Research by Dr. Jessie Salter.  Dr. Salter is interested in the processes that generate and maintain diversity at the species, population, and genome level in birds. Her research explores questions like: What drives diversification and maintains species across diverse habitats? How is genetic diversity structured within and amongst populations? What genomic mechanisms underlie phenotypic diversity within closely-related taxa? Please join us for an interesting review of her recent research in quail evolution and genomics.

Dr. Salter is a museum-based ornithologist interested in the evolutionary processes responsible for generating diversity among closely-related organisms. She is currently an NSF Postdoctoral Fellow working at the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County.
