Encinitas: Yard Bird Summer Tanager (10/16)! and other Fall Yard Bird goodies:

Sorry for a yard bird post, but a Summer Tanager was calling from the Carrotwood tree behind my place today (10/16). It was very awesome to hear from my yard. Right when I began to try to record it, the bird stopped vocalizing. Fortunately my wife was right next to me and heard it very well.

Other notes from the yard in September include a vocal Tropical Kingbird that stuck around for a few days. And lastly, a Least Bell's Vireo visited my drip.
