Dusky Flycatcher ???

 I am looking for guidance on flycatcher observation, I live between Julian and Santa Ysabel approx. 2600 feet elevation. Over the last couple of months I have been clearing the property of fire dangers and have seen a small flycatcher "flycatching" from the lower branches of the large Oak trees or from  the outside edge of the larger Scrub Oak bushes, never in the canopy of the large trees. Today I actually got a binocular view of the bird and all features look like a Dusky Flycatcher, I have looked at photos on line and on eBird and this bird looks the same. When I look at the location of this bird on eBird for "January" I question my sighting. Any advice would be appreciated.
