Coronado: Orchard, Baltimore, Bullock’s, Summer, Western Yellow

11:32 am

A Sunday morning check of a bunch of sites in Coronado turned up several nice birds, but also a goodly number of stops that were eerily quiet.First thing in the morning along the border between Coronado and the NASNI golf course there was a multi-year returning female Orchard Oriole that is notably small and somewhat dull and disheveled, a female Baltimore Oriole that is also probably a returning bird, and a female-type Summer Tanager. Over along the edge of the Coronado Municipal Golf Course, there was a Bullock’s Oriole, 2 Western Tanagers, and a Yellow Warbler.
