Continuing South County birds

Hi all,

After seeing the Little Stint through Nancy's scope this morning (many many thanks to
Nancy, Guy and Matt!), I went down to the Tijuana River mouth where the
female Black Scoter was just outside the breakers as reported yesterday by Dan Jehl,
and the Pacific Golden Plover was continuing. Unbelievable how many trips it took me
over the years to finally see that plover.
At the Bird&Butterfly Garden there was not much. Gretchen Nell and I went
over to the Tesoro Grove riparian area on the north side of Nestor Park where
we refound the American Redstart, which was hyperactively foraging on both
sides of the road. Also one Wilson's and one Black-throated Gray Warbler,
one bright red male Summer Tanager, and two Western Tanagers (one male,
one female).
