community garden visitation; T. K. "issues"
For those who plan on visiting the community gardens in the TRV at any time, there is one basic rule: PLEASE WALK IN. Do not drive. There is plenty of parking along Hollister Avenue. Cars inside are for the garden plot renters who are bringing supplies in and out. Not for us visitors, unless someone qualifies as handicapped. And please be nice to all plot "workers" as you walk by on the paths.
There have been three well documented, early Tropical Kingbirds in the county so far this month. There have also been several additional birds reported as Tropicals, with photos, that show either Cassin's or Western Kingbirds with noticeably notched tails. These are mostly worn birds in molt. A couple Cassin's have also shown slightly washed-out head-patterns, and at least one of the Westerns had the yellow extending quite high up on the breast. So, beware!
