Common Tern at Sweetwater Reservoir

Hello! This is my first post here!

My wife Beverly and I only recently started birding actively – since around May of this year. I’m completely new to this while Beverly has a bit more experience (and I have her to thank for getting me into it!)

Tonight was our first visit to the Sweetwater Reservoir. Around 4:30pm as we were leaving, we observed a Common Tern on a buoy near the parking lot (lifer for both of us, but I’m pretty confident about the id). Since they seem very rarely reported this far east, I thought it might be worth mentioning here.
