Common Murres, early juv R-n Phal, misc. waterbirds

Today, the 23rd, there were 4 one-year-old Common Terns on the J St./Marina Pkwy. mudflats, along with a good total of 230 Royal Terns (with slightly larger numbers of Elegants). A seawatch from the south end of Seacoast Drive produced 6+ Brown Boobies. A flock of 17 summering Surf Scoters off Camp Surf. Yesterday, the 22nd, an AM seawatch at La Jolla produced continuing small numbers of southbound Common Murres, with 3 birds in 90 minutes, as well as good numbers of southbound Red-necked Phalaropes, 60+ Black-vented Shearwaters, and 40+ Black Storm-Petrels. A JUVENILE Red-necked Phalarope at San Dieguito Lagoon in Del Mar ties my personal early arrival date for this age in the county, in 2017. Also 9 Redheads and 3 W-f Ibis there.
