Clay-colored, Summers, Lappie
On Wednesday the 22nd, there was a new Clay- colored Sparrow at Linda Vista Community Park, which, incredibly enough, is in Linda Vista. It was frequenting the edge of the largest ball field where they have planted a number of staked saplings. Seems to be a little new crop of Clay-coloreds around town the last few days. Also, the continuing, returning (for its second year) adult male American Redstart at the Four Points Sheraton next to Montgomery Field.
Today, Turkey Day, a new, female-type Summer Tanager is at the northeast corner of Mission Bay near the south end of the golf course driving range, and another new, young male Summer Tanager is farther south along the east side of Mission Bay bordering the San Diego Mission Bay Resort. One Lapland Longspur continues at the Fiesta Island dog run.
