Clark's Pair
I went up to Mt Laguna chasing the Clark's Nutcracker. There are 2 of them up there, I saw them both at the same time. They were moving more or less together through the tall trees near the pumphouse. Did not get any photos, I think I will try again tomorrow morning now that I know what they look like in flight. I didn't realize that in flight they had the white markings under the wings, and did not realize they were so large. I had been seeing them on and off all morning between about 8AM and 10AM but only realized they were the clark's closer to 10 AM….Also present pygmy and white-breasted nuthatch, Ca Scrub Jays, Steller's Jays, Hairy Woodpecker, Northern Flicker, and tons of Acorn Woodpeckers. Mountain Chickadee's, Spotted Towhee, Western Bluebirds, some violet – green swallows I believe, not 100% sure on that but appeared to be.
