On Saturday I was able to enter the San Diego Country Club (members only) as part of the San Diego CBC. ~50% of the trees had been removed due to infestation mitigation, which may have caused the Pine Warbler to relocate to nearby Friendship Park in Chula Vista.  Nonetheless there were a few good birds including:Greater-white fronted GooseCackling GooseHermit WarblerRed-breasted NuthatchNearby Hilltop Park and the adjacent middle school athletic fields was also very productive producing:Chestnut-sided WarblerMountain Bluebirds (2 females)Summer TanagerRed-breasted Sapsucker (very photogenic individual)Full trip report and photos for area 26 here:https://ebird.org/tripreport/22603On Sunday I headed out to Borrego Springs with Nathan Goldberg to benefit from any sightings from the Anza Borrego CBC. While we weren’t officially a part of the CBC hopefully Bob can supplement his list with our sightings. Highlights included:LeConte’s Thrashers (Old Springs Rd OSP)Gambel’s Quail (one good(?) individual at Borrego Springs amongst many hybrids)Full trip report and photos here:https://ebird.org/tripreport/22152On Saturday Dec 12 Gary Nunn took Nathan, Nancy, Jim, Matt and I out to the 30 mile bank and back. We unfortunately missed the large shearwater flock reported off Cardiff later that weekend and saw similar species to the ones Paul Lehman reported last week from Povey’s boat.  Full list of sightings and photos here:https://ebird.org/tripreport/17046All the best,Tom Ford-HutchinsonSan Diego, CA
