Cattle Egret, Famosa Slough, 12 October
With the high tide pushing some 60+ Great Egrets into Famosa Slough, careful inspection by Nicole yielded a CATTLE EGRET, the first I've personally seen there, although eBird lists a dozen or so records.
Checked a few other places this morning (Emerald Hills Park, Mt. Hope Cemetery [in part], Dennis V. Allen Park, Friendship Park, San Diego River mouth) but the only other bird of note was a singing PLUMBEOUS VIREO at Friendship Park, possibly the same one reported singing there on October 3rd by Paul Lehman.
