Calavera Lake – Solitary Sand

Today (8/12) there was a Solitary Sandpiper at upper end of Lake Calavera in Carlsbad.

On a side note, has anyone seen any Mojava yucca with seedpods in coastal north county? I haven't seen one in years, save perhaps at the Manchester Preserve. I've seen flowers in the spring, but almost none go to seed.
