Buena Vista Audubon Society (BVAS) is seeking applicants for its newly created position of Executive Director. BVAS is an independent, 501(c)3 conservation organization that received its charter as a chapter of the National Audubon Society in 1952. The BVAS mission focuses on conservation through education, advocacy, land management, and monitoring. BVAS has a dues-paying membership of approximately 2,000 households, primarily representing geographic groupings of residential neighborhoods and businesses connected by shared interests or common identities among the communities of San Diego County’s north coast region. BVAS offers a wide variety of nature education programs annually, including guided nature walks, nature-themed open houses and special events at the Nature Center, student tours, and regular bird surveys at local reserves. BVAS has also recently acquired two parcels of land—one, coastal wetlands; the other, inland grasslands—both of which are slated for restoration.
