Buff breasted Sandpiper and little stint
Just after 11:00 a.m. I found a buff breasted Sandpiper in the Tijuana River valley. There is no way that people can drive in to where the bird is, as it's private property and they will flush all the killdeer and the bird. Therefore if you are interested in seeing it drive right now to the main dairy Mart parking lot for the main Pond and I will meet people there and we will figure something out. The bird may be visible from a public road and we're currently trying to figure out if that is the case. Do not under any situation drive to where you think it might be as it's private property and you will flush the birds. I will post an update if and when we figure out a way to see it from a public road. But in the meantime I will meet people at the main dairy Mart parking lot in 45 minutes or at about 12:15 at the latest . Also the little stint is back on the island at the end of 10th Street earlier this morning around 9:00 just as the heat distortion was getting bad. It's in full basic plumage. There was a black and white warbler at the bird n butterfly garden and a Brewers Sparrow at the sunset ball fields and a new vermilion flycatcher and four continuing black chinned hummingbirds at the community gardens.
