Hello Sea Birders,This is the release of the 2022 Buena Vista Audubon sponsored pelagic birding schedule for San Diego, California. You may wish to print this out.All trips will be aboard the 80ft. Legacy out of Seaforth Sportfishing Landing in Mission Bay..Trip details can be viewed at www.sandiegopelagics,com.  as well as past trip reports.Trips may be booked anytime online at www.sdwhale.com.  or call Seaforth Sportfishing Landing ( 619 224-3383 ) during regular working hours ( 7am. to 4 p.m.) Pacific Coast Time.We are offering eight trips this year. Five are the traditional peak migration season trips, and are 10-12 hr.  ( May, June, Aug., Sept., and very early Oct.)Three trips are new. Two are shorter local to coastal San Diego trips at 5.5-6 hr. trip ( April , and later Oct. ). These trips are in the migration shoulder season, but offer  possibilities for some species sometimes missed in other months. The last is a July 10-12 hr. trip added to match the recent discovery of Cook’s Petrel in relatively inshore areas, including the far southwest corner of San Diego co. No guarantees here, but certainly a chance for a nice addition to anyone’s list. This trip is at the peak season for Craveri’s Murrelet, expect a nice mix of regular storm-petrels, an outside chance for Red-billed Tropicbird and we have also had some rare boobies species at this time of year..2022 BVAS pelagic trips; ( * new trips offered this year)*April  24th.  Sunday  5.5-6hr.May 14th    Saturday 10-12 hr.June  12th     Sunday 10-12hr.*July 16th.    Saturday 10-12hr.August  13th.  Saturday 10-12hr.September  11th.   Sunday 10-12 hr.October   1st.    Saturday 10-12hr.*October   22nd.   Saturday 5.5-6 hr Again you can book directly at www.sdwhale.com. Hit the red “book now”, and scroll down until you hit the date you like to book.
