Broad-winged Hawk over Mount Soledad
11:32 am
An immature Broad-winged hawk went over Mount Soledad between 11:00 and 11:15 a.m. this morning, Saturday, right after Red taileds and Osprey started getting up but otherwise we’ve only had one Cooper’s Hawk so not many hawks. Started looking around 10:00 a.m. Also came here yesterday afternoon between 3:00 and 5:00 PM and had two sharpshinned hawks go by. Some hawk sites to our north which get broad wings in the fall do better for them in the late morning but some do better in the mid to late afternoon so not sure what the situation here would be.
