Broad-billed Hummingbird at Carmel Valley
Broad-billed Hummingbird at Carmel Valley

A male Broad-billed Hummingbird has been coming to private feeders in the Carmel Valley area now since early November. The homeowner has graciously given permission for birders to come see the bird first thing tomorrow morning, Monday. But only for tomorrow morning for the first two or three hours in the morning. As such we will not publicly give the address here, as she does not wish there to be a free-for-all where people just keep showing up at the house at any time of day. But anybody who would like to look for the bird at dawn tomorrow morning, we will meet at a nearby shopping center and then carpool and caravan from there. I will post instructions later today, but for now assume we are going to meet in the Carmel Valley area at 5:45 a.m. tomorrow. Maybe we’ll have a second group going around 7:00 a.m. if they can’t get out of bed for the 5:45 meeting. Just so you can get your ducks in a row. More info later. The homeowners say that if everything goes okay tomorrow morning, then they will probably offer an additional showing in a few more days.
