Borrego Springs Summer Tanager and misc.

On today's (20 Dec) Borrego Springs CBC, we had an adult male Summer Tanager at "The Springs" golf course bordering Roadrunner Club. Specifically near the eastern-most pond. Also a male Scott's Oriole there. Ponds just west of there had locally scarce 4 Canvasbacks and 1 Redhead, plus now-regular 5 Hooded Mergansers. At Roadrunner Club, there was a female, pure-looking "Yellow-shafted" Flicker, and 2 Mountain Bluebirds in with hundreds of Westerns. Two American Crows at De Anza Club are presumably continuing long-staying birds, east of their normal range. And Bob Theriault was thrilled that we potentially saved the day with our find of 4 House Sparrows!!
