Black and White Warbler, San Elijo Visitor Center

7:59 am

I found a Black and White Warbler a few minutes ago silently creeping on a willow on the south side of the nature trail (33.012427,-117.272251). At first, I thought it was a Black-throated Gray, but I got a good look at it. Bold striping, no yellow spot, streaky gray throat. Sorry, no photo. Also, Merlin sound ID said there was a Verdin in the area. I didn’t find it.

Good birding,

Laurel Scott
