Birding Feb 29, 2020

I headed out towards the Nestor area yesterday.  Both the Scissor-Tailed Flycatcher and Thick-Billed Kingbird were present at trees near the pool in Poggi Greenbelt.  On the north end.

There were Vermilion Flycatchers, 2 males and a female present at the Sunset ballfields, on the west end because people were playing ball on the east end fields.

Nothing of note at the Bird & Butterfly garden really.  Roughwinged swallows, Red Shouldered and Red-Tailed Hawks, colorful male Allen's Hummingbird but nothing unusual.

At my house near Iron Mountain there have been Orioles around for the past week or so, finally  got a photo of one yesterday.  I had not seen or heard any before yesterday but every day a cup of jelly has been eaten for about a week, I assume it's been them.  Maybe just passing through and this is the first one that stayed.

There was also a Rufous Hummingbird near the same feeder/bottlebrush that the Oriole was located at the house.  I saw it fan its tail but was unable to get any photos.  It was not an Allen's I saw the tail clearly with binoculars.
