Bendire’s Thrasher continues at Borrego WWTP
This morning, August 18, 2020, the Bendire’s Thrasher continues at the old Borrego Waste Water Treatment Ponds. Beware of the very worn Northern Mockingbird that fooled most in the early morning light. The Bendire’s was seen perching on the barbed wire fence surrounding the ponds as well as on some lower vegetation. Best looks were from 6:40 to around 7:45.
The upper pond has some water and was receiving more while we were there, the vegetation there has been recently mowed and the lush vegetation of the lower pond was mowed this morning.
No LeConte’s Thrashers graced us with their presence today, perhaps this was due to the three Prairie Falcons drinking and hunting in the upper pond.
