Bay-breasted update

Bay-breasted update
By – 8:04 am
As of 8:00 a.m. the Bay-breasted warbler continues in the line of tipu trees along Park Boulevard, see previous message for more information. It seems to like between the 3rd and 6th tree north of the Navy hospital entrance. It also flew across Park Boulevard to the opposite side where there are additional tipus and peppers. So it may be gone for periods of time as well. Matt and Mel and Dan are all here photographing it, as it is more photogenic than the Doyle bird. Give or take, this bird gives Matt a tie for the record year list in the county at 393. He is currently not counting the towhee.A bay breasted warbler wintered in tipus in UTC about 10 years ago, but they are also regularly seen into the first half of November as fall migrants that then do not winter locally. So too early to tell whether it’s just a through migrant or if it sticks around.Paul Lehman, San DiegoSent from the all new AOL app for Android
