Battle of the Buff-breasteds!, 2 Mountain Plovers, stint correction, TK
Sorry for the third post about the little stint, but I made a typo in the previous message, and I had the bird this morning from 8:00 to 8:45 a.m., not 9:00 to 9:45 a.m., and probably by after 9:00 a.m. the heat distortion would be a problem if it's a sunny day. And incredibly, not only is the Robb Field Buff breasted Sandpiper still present, but the TRV sod farm Buff breasted Sandpiper is still present today as well. I would have missed it and the big flock of almost 50 killdeer, as they were all roosting in a cloddy dirt field along the east side, where hard to see, except the young peregrine falcon that frequents the area flushed them all up and actually chased the Buff breasted for a short period of time before breaking off the chase. And at the South end of the sod farm a freshly smoothed dirt field there now has two Mountain Plovers. Lastly, the Tropical Kingbird continues at the main Dairy Mart pond and at 11:30 is calling a bunch right next to the main observation platform with a couple Cassins.
Let's see who can be first to get Buff breasted Sandpiper for their November list!
