Bank Swallows, reporting suggestions for La Jolla oystercatchers
10:15 am
Yesterday, the 22nd, a group of three Bank Swallows flew by Lower Otay Lake but appeared to just keep going.
Given that there are TWO American-type Oystercatchers at La Jolla–the long-staying American X Black hybrid adult and the newer American-esque juvenile–please be SPECIFIC which bird you are reporting in eBird reports, etc. Lots of folks have lately been reporting seeing a bird and simply saying “continuing,” which doesn’t help in differentiating which bird is being seen. Currently they are most easily separated by bill color.
