Bairds, Golden, three Banks, Parula
11:22 am
On Friday morning, a new Baird’s Sandpiper was at the upper, east end of Lower Otay Lake with lots of Westerns and Leasts, first spotted by John Martin; the Pacific Golden Plover was on Stint Island in Pond 23 at the saltworks first thing with lots of Black bellieds and red knots when the tide was up; the Northern Parula continued in the Bird and Butterfly Garden, and there are three Bank Swallows in the moderate-sized mixed swallow flock feeding around the fisherman’s parking lot area at Sweetwater Reservoir.
