Apparent new Summer Tanager – De Anza Cove – Mission Bay

Apparent new Summer Tanager – De Anza Cove – Mission Bay
By {authorlink} – 4:46 pm

Yesterday (12/26 – 9:30 am) and today (12/27 – 12:07) I had a female type Summer Tanager in the trees in the very SE corner of the Golf Course Driving Range (32.7988473,-117.2126500). Both days immediately after I saw the Tanager I picked up a Bullock’s Oriole. So not sure they are foraging together but I never saw one without the other in the immediate area. Today I was staring at these trees for 30 or 40 minutes before I spotted the Tanager, not sure if I had just missed it or if it had just flown in. Photos included in my latest eBird report: https://ebird.org/checklist/S124724087
Also present were the three Snow Geese that have been around for a month or more and appear to have maybe taken up residence in this park
