12/22/21 – Sunset Trail to Big Laguna Lake

I hit the Sunset Trailhead early this morning to try and beat the poor weather coming the next couple days and found a couple birds of interest.  At Water of the Woods was a somewhat vocal Plumbeous Vireo, as well as a group of three Golden-crowned Kinglets high in the pines roughly here: 32.876112, -116.467021.  There may have been more but they got swept up in a tidal wave of Bushtits.At Big Laguna Lake was a ~3rd year Bald Eagle watching over the water, along with the usual suspects of winter ducks including a small group of Canvasbacks and one Eared Grebe hanging around.Andrew NewmarkChula Vista, CA
